A boyhood blue, who soon changed to a red when we signed him up. Jamie Carragher is Mr Liverpool. He is also our vice captain who wears the liverbird on his chest with heart and passion. Roy Evans gave Carra his debut Carra's against Middlesbrough on January 8, 1997. He also wears the number Robbie Fowler made famous, 23. His heroics in the 2005 European cup final will always be remembered Mr Liverpool also has a book out, and is a really good read.....

The loyal defender, who moved into second on the club's all-time appearance list this season, says the last 18 months have been a hardship but the club as finally getting onto the right path again under Kenny Dalglish. Carragher said: "When you are enjoying it you just want the season to keep going. "I always find it difficult to switch off even in the summer. "I’m already thinking about next season. "You are always thinking about who is coming in, who is going and then when the fixtures come out who we have got in the first game. It never stops." Meanwhile, this summer brings the prospect of exciting new signings as Fenway Sports Group vowed to give Dalglish the financial backing he needs to improve the squad. Carragher insists he trusts the staff to bring in quality while his job is to keep focussing on the pitch. "You pick up bits and bobs off different people, just like the fans do. We all love to see ourselves going for top players and bringing them in. "But that’s nothing to do with me. That’s up to the manager and Damien Comolli, and who they decide is good enough.
